Special Ostadi - What's so special about it?

Special Ostadi owner Mohammad Al Ansari

Special Ostadi owner Mohammad Al Ansari

IN A NUTSHELL

This restaurant has been in existence, and apparently run by the same family, since 1978. What makes Special Ostadi so Special? A few things:
1) Majid Ansari - the owner's son/ restaurant manager. Majid is a reminder of what makes Middle Eastern restaurants so unique: hospitable and loud. Makes you feel like you're visiting a relative's house rather than a restaurant
2) The Kebab Kubide
3) The fact that you only pay less than 50AED for a more than satisfying meal

THE MOOD

The oldest Iranian restaurant (and probably one of the oldest restaurants overall) in Dubai. Once you've made your way in, you'll be seated amid some mish-mashed decor that looks like it has been accumulated over the years.

THE FOOD

We did order most of the grills they have on the menu and I strongly recommend:
- The Chicken Joujeh
- The Kabab Kubideh (Mutton)
- Have a side of rice and ask to get some cranberries on top

THE DAMAGE

Less than AED 50
